Evans Head is a peacefully thriving coastal village perfectly nestled in the banks of Evans River in New South Wales. From north-east of Sydney, Evans is 727 km away. Evans Head boasts its great fishing sites and fantastic long stretch of beaches perfect for surfing escapades. The village is regarded as the “Jewel in the Crown of Richmond Valley”. Being a spectacular fishing destination, it is also known for the yearly fishing event held every in last week of June or first week of July which is the Evans Head Fishing Classic.
The first ever commercial prawn port in the country is in Evans Head which still offers great of king and school prawns at present. It is a beach town with old-fashioned atmosphere and breathtaking coastal sceneries. Despite being a tiny town, it offers great options for vacation making it one of the best holiday destinations in the country.
The village offers not only water adventures but also inland sports you can play while being surrounded by attractive natural views. Kids can safely swim on the shallow beaches or in the clean rivers. It is also home to the biggest caravan parks in the state near the river providing great shade and gateway to various facilities.
